The fabulous fun of marketing analytics!

Hi Everyone!! Once again welcome back to my channel!!

In today we are going to look at the importance of analytics when it comes to marketing. Sounds fun…I know right?!

Analytics is used to assess and improve the contribution of e-marketing to a business. This can be done by reviewing traffic volume, referrals and clickstreams, online data reach, customer satisfaction surveys, leads and sales.

For example, if we take a look into social media, it has become one of the biggest ways to market products to their target markets.

It is free for companies to use platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and twitter to post pictures or information about their product, BUT it is essentially a waste of time if their audience isn’t actually engaged by it.

Now, a way for companies to find out how engaged consumers actually are??……Is through the wonders of Analytics.

You know when companies or business owner posts a story in Instagram, snapchat or Facebook and attach a link to take you to their website and perhaps a discount code? Well this seems like a really easy way of spreading your companies message around, but businesses need to actually assess whether customers are swiping up and even using the discount code they are being given!

Because there are so many other business using this marketing strategy and because consumer preferences change so often due to so many ads popping up, it is so important for brands to measure how sustainable their performance is through these ads.

By using growth and engagement metrics we can measure how many people swipe up, make it to the checkout, use the code and complete the purchase.

In Social media it’s important for business to remember that it’s not about how many people see the ad, but out of the people who see it, who actually engage in its purpose!!!

SO..I hope you learnt something today, I know I did.

    1. You worded that fantastically, i think it is also so important. often people think being active on SM is enough but it truely depends on how often people utilise the information given to them

  1. I think its really important to use analytics to measure engagement. So many companies are focused on number of followers, number of posts, etc. that they are forgetting that people arent neccesarily using their codes or accessing their website for an extended period!
